Hi Guys,
Due to mutiple porn spammers signing up on a daily basis, I've had to put admin approval for all new signups.
I didn't want to do it, but it seems like the only way to stop them.
Good news is the site is checked by an admin at least once a day, so if you sign up, your membership will be approved within 24hours.
Thanks and please continue to use the site.

Yo Martin,
Does that mean i have to approve new members too ?
if so,
what happens, what do i have to do...
doesn't bother me if i have to or not

Cheers,
Stephen.

You won't need to at the moment steve, I'm still working on ways to make a custom profile field that requires a specific entry like "datsun" so the spammers that have bots that sign up automatically won't be able to complete that part of the registration.
So once I figure that part out, we shouldn't need admin approval for new rego's, stay tuned.

Ok guys, I "think" I have successfully created a custom profile field that will stop spammers from doing their auto signups to this site.
What does that mean?
If it works (I'll give it a 1 week trial), it means I can remove the admin validation for users to get approved to post and just leave the email validation.
Which also means less admin work for myself, and finally that I can allow people to signup using hotmail and gmail etc.
Time will tell, I'll update after a week if see a decline in spam signups.

Ok the spam issues seems to be all clear now, so I've removed admin approval for all new registrations from today. So now people that sign up can post straight away without having to wait for me to approve them.
