Yeah I spent countless hours welding and welding to get it to where it is today. Its weird to think it hasn't been really driven daily in who knows how many years. Its the cars second chance biggrin.gif I'm only half way there, the body needs more attention and maybe some real paint. the interior is lacking, its cold as shit to drive..... Its my dream car though cool.gif Just like every car I've owned it will go through changes but this time I wont sell it if I get board biggrin.gif

I like what you have done with the bonnet smile.gif

OldmanDatto
Greetings to all OldmanDatto here.My affair with Dattos stared in the late 60's with a Datsun !000 [ex Bathurst car] which was raced until I brought a New 1200 coupe. Over the following years I've had 1600/180bSS/200b/240k/stanza/910/1200&720 utes/300c/Navara &several Skylines.I used a lot of these cars in all forms of club motorsport. At present my fleet consists of 4x Stanzas,2xGazelles,a260z and a 180bSSS.Two of the Stanzas and the Z are Club rego'd and I'm an active mbr of the HRA. I'll get a pic up asap .Cheers

GTR510
Welcome to Datfusion TJ,

From your post it looks like you are not a beginner at this whole datsun thing. Nice rig mate smile.gif

The condition of the green 68 stocker is gradually improving. I managed to get a mint grill and lower chrome piece which have now been installed.

I also scored some JDM scuff plates which are way cooler then the ADM ones and I have also cleaned up the interior a fair bit.

In fact you have reminded to create a project thread for this car so thanks for that.
TD.711
HI, Tim here from The Nthn Beaches in Sydney, my car is in the project section in the forum, have a look at it there, its a 1972 1600

Hi Scott
Gee I must be the last person to know Craig isn't a part of maddat anymore.. lol
Very nice 1200 you have there, I think a dished type set of wheels would set it right off.
If I get a chance when I'm in SA for drift australia I'll try to drop in and say hi

OldmanDatto
Good to see there is room for a few gazelles in that padock
It must be good having that much room to tinker away with your cars

Brian
OldmanDatto
Hi Brian yes its taken a while but I've finally got enough room to keep my flock although a 200b has been added since that pic. I will also post a pic of my workshop soon .As i Have 2 acres i have a gearbox shed a panel shed and a general parts shed still I could always do with more undercover space. Cheers OMD

Hi my name is Roger and I'm a CA fetish freak laugh.gif

S12 Gazelle 1 - 248.2hp (185.1kw) @ 5501rpm - 349.4nm (35.63 kg/m) @ 4493rpm:
On a serious note I do have a very rare CA20DET, designed by myself, built by cowboys (unfortunatly). It's the original CA20 block from the S12 with a CA18DET head, EVO III TD05H-16G, Trust 550cc injectors, Power FC (AP Engineering - Datalogit tuned), etc. It's a money pit that I wouldn't recommend to anyone, but I'm happy with what I could do with stock CA matchstick rods (shot peened).

S12 Gazelle 2:
I recently purchased another antelope to have as a track only car. It will be running an FJ20E motor initially so I can enter under 2L N/A class racing (Top Gear, Time Attack, Improved Production, etc). If this proves uninspiring I'll slap a Garrett on the side & go play with the big boys. Only just started stripping it back and currently on cancer patrol.

A shot of the Big Block CA in action...

dave
Hi.

If you hadn't already worked it out, I'm Dave and I have no imagination when it comes to making up usernames on forums rolleyes.gif .

My first car was a 1600 which I've owned since 1981.

On top of that, I've got an ex-rally 1600 that's now a track car, and my current project - a 1972 180B SSS thats getting fully restored and will eventually feature a supercharged, injected L18.

wogrocket
Just thought I'de say Hi to everyone. I'm from Mackay in QLD and have had my datto 1200ute for about 7-8 years now I'm the 2nd owner and bought it when it was totally stock except for the wheels some 13in alloys
since owning it i have upgraded a few things (have a look in the project section)
Short story of how it got to where it is now a bloke ran me off the road and it came back from the pannell beaters looking too good as it was ment to be a work car for me
hope you like it Mick

Hey guys and gals...
My name is Travis and I'm a motor mechanic for a small business in Penrith NSW.
At the moment my current Datsun is a stock looking 510 which has a mild L18 and some side draught carbs, this car is my daily driver.
Ive owned a few dattos over the past ten years and plan on owning a few more too.
I also suck at using computers, and cant work out how to get photos on here, but i did manage to get an avatar pic so that will have to do for now.
