Part 1 - Mounting the motor1. Reverse the engine crossmember - This involves turning the crossmember 180 degrees to accomodate for the forward facing sump of the SR20 (The original L16 & L18 have a rearward facing sump). The control arm pin locaters need to be drilled out and rewelded in the opposite ends, reason for this is on one side the holes are tapered.
Click to view attachmentI recommend buying or exchanging a crossmember from a Licensed workshop to avoid any issues.
2. Use standard S13 SR20 engine brackets, add 10mm spacers to the exhaust side bracket
3. BOLT in the engine!
4. For the gearbox crossmember, you can simply use the S13 gbox crossmember, and redrill the holes in the floor. I have also noticed that some of the kits use the standard L series gearbox crossmember, so that's worth a try as well.
Part 2 - The Rest1. You will need to cut a hole in the gearbox tunnel to allow the top of the SR gearbox to come up through the floor (make your own cover).
2. You will also require a reversed steering drag link to avoid clearance issues with the gearbox bellhousing.
3. You will require a custom sway bar to suit the front facing sump of the SR. Whiteline can supply these.
